Hello, I'm Ken Rancifer, and I'm deeply passionate about the world of sports and the incredible journey it offers to young athletes. I was born and raised in Oakland, California, by a single mother, surrounded by a supportive community that played a crucial role in my life. They, alongside dedicated coaches and mentors, helped shape my path and made it possible for me to fulfill my dream of playing basketball at the collegiate level at the University of San Diego. This journey continued as I ventured into playing professional basketball overseas.
My educational pursuits led me to earn a Master's in Leadership and a Bachelor's in Sociology, complementing my deep love for coaching and mentoring. It is through these experiences and the knowledge I've gained that I've come to understand the significance of unbiased mentorship for student-athletes. I firmly believe that every young athlete deserves guidance and support on their athletic journey, regardless of the sport they pursue or the challenges they encounter.
That's where The Assist comes in. The Assist is not just an organization; it's a community of coaches who are committed to sharing their knowledge, going the extra mile, and making a real impact on the lives of young athletes. We believe in creating a supportive environment for athletes and their parents as they navigate the intricate path of their sport. This journey not only builds great athletes but also develops exceptional individuals who will go on to positively impact the world.
